The King's Own has had a Regimental hockey team, the Sabres, since 1996.

The team participates in games against hockey teams from other units in 41 Canadian Brigade Group, Calgary Garrison.  The league is a competitive all-abilities league, comprised of soldiers and Regimental family members ranging from those new to hockey, to players who are ex-professionals.

In 2024, The Sabres won the Calgary Garrison Hockey League Championship.  Go Sabres!
