Remembrance Day 2018 – Battalion Park Ceremony

Service begins at 10 a.m. on Sunday, 11th November 2018.

 

King’s Own Calgary Regiment will be hosting the 7th annual Remembrance Day ceremony at Battalion Park. Since 2012, we have been hosting the Remembrance day ceremony at Battalion to commemorate the fallen Canadian and Allied Soldiers from the conflicts since the Great War. The ceremony will include speeches, public address, and wreath laying.

Soldiers of the King’s Own Calgary Regiment will be providing a Vigil Guard for the cenotaph at Battalion Park. We hope to see you there!

As well, King’s Own Calgary will be providing a contingent of soldiers to the 100th Anniversary of Armistice in a large military parade. 41 Canadian Brigade Group (41 CBG) will commemorate the Centenary of the First World War Armistice with a Brigade Parade through downtown Calgary on Sunday, November 11, 2018. The parade, composed of over 300 sailors and soldiers, represent 41 CBG units from across the province and includes sailors from HMCS TECUMSEH and soldiers from the British Army Training Unit Suffield (BATUS). The parade starts at 10:00 a.m. on November 11, 2018 near the Field of Crosses, just east of the Centre Street Bridge on Memorial Drive. The parade will move west along Memorial Drive, crossing the Louise Bridge at 10th St. SW, to arrive at the McDougall Centre (455 – 6th St SW) at 10:40 a.m. At 11:00 a.m., 20th Independent Field Battery, RCA (the Lethbridge Gunners) will fire a minute gun to mark the start of the two minutes of silence. A 21-Gun Salute will follow after the two minutes of silence
