Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Darryl Watts, CD

LCol Watts joined the King’s Own Calgary Regiment as a private and completed all Reserve armoured direct fire and armoured reconnaissance courses to the rank of Corporal before commissioning and completing the RESO program.  He has had a variety of troop and squadron command appointments with the King’s Own.  He has held staff positions at regimental headquarters as well as with 41 CBG Battle School.

He has deployed operationally as a force protection platoon commander with the Provincial Reconstruction Team in Kandahar City in 2009.

LCol Watts is an officer with the City of Calgary Fire Department having served a three year secondment to the Calgary Emergency Management Agency.

Lieutenant-Colonel Darryl Watts assumed command of the King’s Own Calgary Regiment (RCAC) in June 2019.
